About Devon

learning assessment cycle

I have been an assessment consultant for over five years. I received my M.A. in Quantitative Psychology from James Madison University in 2014, where I worked in the Center for Assessment and Research Studies, and learned how to assist faculty and staff with their general education, programmatic, and student affairs assessment projects. Since September, 2014 I have been the Director of Assessment at Stephens College in Columbia, MO and have built a sustainable and data-drive assessment protocol from the ground up. I am also an aspiring instructional designer, and currently study Information Science and Learning Technologies as a PhD student at the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO. Feel free to contact me with questions about student learning assessment, instructional design, or the website!

About Assessment Help

Higher education is more data-focused than ever. Since the assessment push in the late 1990s, there is pressure from the federal government, parents, and accrediting bodies to ensure colleges and universities "prove" they do what they say they do. Since 2007, accrediting agencies have been cracking down on institutions to not only document student learning, but improve learning by making targeted curricular changes. In order to "close the loop", assessment plans must be solid from the very first objective to the final statistical analysis. This site is here to help make the process a little bit easier, help you become an assessment leader for your program, and foster a culture of assessment at your institution.
